One of the most distinguishing characteristics of Shadow Rock is the style of its worship.

are all terms that have been used to describe the Sunday morning worship experience. Music ranges from folk to Broadway, jazz to gospel, and is accompanied by piano, guitar, tambourine, and hand-clapping. Litanies are responsive. Applause is a part of each service and children and youth are active participants. A positive focus laced with joy and humor creates a place where people are full of energy and feel valued. Worship is dynamic, fluid, and moving with the purpose of discovering God’s spirit in self and community, thus empowering each member to go out and live his or her faith. People leave worship feeling re-energized to continue living intentionally. There is no guilt here and “possibilities” are always more important than “shoulds.”
Unafraid to risk, the Shadow Rock community first closed for the month of July because of the needs of the high school setting in which it was meeting. Everyone felt so positive about this month of re-creation that taking off for July became an annual tradition. Please join us during the months of August through June and then refresh and re-create yourself during our July Sabbath.
Education Hour
Preschoolers through adults are invited to attend the educational offerings from 9:10 -10:00 a.m.
The Growing Place / Preschool Growing Place
The Growing Place is an alternative to attending the 10:15 p.m. worship service for preschoolers and children kindergarten through the second grade. These two programs offer loving care and activities. Not a substitute for the lessons of the educational hour, but value- stories and lessons are explored. Children are always welcome in the worship services.
Childcare for infants and toddlers is also available from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m.
